Explanation given as Kris Boyd is absent from Sky amid rumours of mass complaints from Celtic fans

TV companies will tend to have one pundit to represent each of the teams who are playing that day, although you still want some kind of professionalism and unbiased comments from them.

Sky have actually got it right with their Premier League coverage as Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville are entertaining despite their obvious allegiances, but improvements must be made in Scotland.

Everyone knows that Kris Boyd is a huge fan of the Rangers and that’s not a problem in itself – Ally McCoist is obviously the same but he can be entertaining and occasionally balanced as a pundit.

The problem with Boyd is his inability to string a basic sentence together, while he gets far too emotional depending on results and he offers literally nothing educational to the viewer at all.

The Daily Record have reported that thousands of Celtic fans had put in complaints about his work and there were a few wondering if the plan had worked as he was missing from the coverage from the game tonight.

Unfortunately it’s emerged that even Sky need a rest from him every now and then and it’s just a case of this being one of his games off, so it sounds like he will be gracing our screens again very soon.
