Clement avoids the Postecoglou treatment from Keevins

Sippin’ Keevins showing his true colours yet again…

Hugh Keevins is certainly a peculiar character. I can’t make my mind up if he just tries to be controversial or he unwittingly contradicts himself on a regular basis. And for a guy who is supposed to be a Celtic man, his regular outpourings are pretty remarkable, but it keeps the pay cheques coming in I suppose.

This time let’s look at his gushing praise of the Rangers’ latest manager Philippe Clement and he’s not been asking how long he’ll last given how quickly they come and go over in Govan these days.

Keevins is full of praise for Clement. Fair enough if that’s his opinion, but think back to his quick, harsh and ultimately ridiculous assessment of Ange Postecoglou when he arrived at Celtic.

‘Absolutely Not Good Enough.‘  Those were the words shug used to describe the new Celtic manager after just one game as Celtic manager. Shug had no hesitation in quickly mocking the Australian he’d never heard of. Bet he was chuffed with his headline and revelling as he always does when Celtic are in a tough situation.

Especially during a game when Celtic need a goal to avoid dropping points and Keevins can’t wait just a few moments to sink the knife in to Celtic, then mid-rant we here ‘GOAL FLASH’ and he’s left with egg on his face. Again.

We know how that worked out for Shug as far as Ange is concerned after the now Tottenham boss led us to five trophies in two years. Shug like the rest of his hack pals were left distraught, some even raging.

To see him praise Philippe Clement so quickly is amusing but perhaps not surprising. He has allowed theRangers boss time to settle then has given him a wonderful appraisal.  Contrast that to the ‘welcome’ Ange received from Keevins and his cronies and it’s no wonder folk challenge their ‘impartiality’

Hugh Keevins is either trying to be controversial to keep himself relevant (in his own eyes) or he is just buttering up the Bears to keep those payslips coming in from Clyde and the Sunday Mail.. Maybe it’s a bit of both, how he is able to look at himself in the mirror remains a mystery.
