If we’re all honest it was expected that Celtic would beat Ross County today. It would’ve been a bonus if it was a great performance to warm up for Lazio but returning to the top of the league was the main thing.
Ross County went down 6-0 and it could’ve been a lot more. Celtic were outstanding and looked creative and clinical in the second half. You could be picky and say the first half should’ve seen more goals, but it certainly sounds like the gaffer is pleased with the performance.

He was speaking to the BBC after the game when he explained just how good he thought the performance was. He said: “That’s the most complete performance we’ve had since I returned here and close to the most complete I’ve had as Celtic manager.”
He then went on to say: “The team was outstanding and there was pure talent out on the pitch. I enjoyed it immensely.”
It’s exactly what everybody needed after the crushing defeat to Livi, it piles the pressure on the previous league leaders and sends a clear warning to Lazio that the team is in form and will cause them problems in Italy.
Lazio had a good performance in a different way, coming back from 3-0 down to snatch a draw, but Celtic’s 6-0 victory will have them worried.
The big problem for Lenny now is putting the team together for Thursday. Many will expect Ryan Christie to return to the team, but how can he drop anybody after that performance?
