Club chairman confirms reported Celtic target will likely leave

Reported Celtic target Oscar Gloukh could be available for transfer in the next two windows. The update comes as his club’s chairman, Mitchell Goldhar, admitted that the player will progress beyond Maccabi Tel-Aviv in either January or the summer.

A report over the weekend suggested that Celtic were interested in the player with Ange Postecoglou already planning to improve his side.

Speaking to Israeli publication Ynet, via The Sun, Goldhar admitted that the player’s future would be away from the club.

“Gloukh is one of the best players who grew up here in our academy. He has abilities that remind us of the greatest of them all.

“He will continue with us a little longer. Maybe in January or at most in the summer he will progress.”

The Israeli youngster is one of the brightest talents in European football at the moment and the club are said to be keen on attaining an eye-watering fee of £8m for him. Interest from a number of clubs has been reported in recent times. The Maccabi Tel-Aviv attacker is currently averaging a goal contribution every 54 minutes in the Ligat ha’Al this season.
