“Clueless” Celtic 0 theRangers 2, Reaction – “To lose in such a gutless, heartless way is unacceptable”

Tommy Sheridan promised he’d give us his post-match thoughts win, lose or draw and despite the hugely disappointing result and performance from a Celtic side bereft of any spark and without even one shot on theRangers goal, he hasn’t hidden away. Instead he’s been in touch with this assessment from the match that ended Celtic 0 theRangers 2 as Celtic fall 4 points behind the latest Ibrox club, although we do have a game in hand.

“Best team on the day won the game,” Tommy conceded. “Very poor performance from both the Celtic team and individual players. Lack lustre, lacking imagination and energy. It was won and lost in midfield.

“However as the champions for each of the last nine seasons we know that championships are awarded in April and May not October. Move on and lift ourselves for Thursday and Sunday #KTF,” Tommy said.

Looking through some of the immediate post match comments from Celtic fans on social media, there is anger and disappointment – bucket loads of each.

But to start here are some wise words from Celtic’s greatest ever manager…

“From 5-1 victories to this slow, lethargic, passionless play is embarrassing & chronic to witness. Tactically we were woeful and our body language maybe tells a bigger story. They were organised tactically but nothing great. This is completely unacceptable,” Matt McGlone.

“Complete and utter embarrassment, outclassed tactically & outfought to a man. Genuinely one of the most heartless performance I've ever seen from a Celtic team in a Glasgow derby. Yes we were missing player but no excuse for that heap of shite we just witnessed. Changes needed,” Celtic1967.com.

“Can debate over who has the better individual players all day, but Rangers are simply a much better-coached team. Polar opposite to Celtic, in knowing their exact roles within a clearly defined system. Four of the last five derbies they’ve comfortably outplayed Celtic,” Kieran Devlin.

“I have to say that Celtic really do look pretty clueless in every respect. No great tactics, no great pace or urgency, and no evidence of the kind of skill that can change or win a game. Kinda like watching mud dry!” Brogan Rogan Trevino.

“Disgusting performance,” Lilze.

“There’s a staleness and complacency at Celtic which has allowed an unprecedented position of dominance to be thrown away. Today should be a catalyst for urgent change. But I can’t see it, not when for many fans past glories seem more important than current failings,” Celtic Wiki.

“Got what we deserved. Absolutely nothing.I can accept losing these games when we give our all and make them earn it. To lose in such a gutless, heartless way is unacceptable. No fight, no passion. Nothing.

I appreciate that we had a lot of important players missing, but still,” Moravcik67
