Commentator praises ‘touching’ Christmas Ad and Behind the Scenes

Guy Mowbray has praised Celtic’s Christmas Advert, calling it ‘brilliant, touching and human’. The BBC and BT Commentator took to Twitter to applaud the club’s release of an emotional Christmas video with a special tribute to the late Bertie Auld.

Mowbray perfectly encapsulates the feelings around the advert that Celtic fans have so it is refreshing and humbling to see them being echoed by a neutral party.

There were a number of tributes throughout the advert to those that are no longer with us, in particular, Bertie Auld. The Lisbon Lion died earlier this month and the Celtic family is mourning his passing. Bertie was inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame in 2009, celebrating all of his achievements including five League titles, three Scottish Cups, four League Cups and two Glasgow Cups. He was a part of the side that triumphed in Lisbon on the 25th of May 1967, breaking into The Celtic Song in the tunnel before the match.

The club also released the Behind the Scenes footage of the production of the advert. Detailing how Ange almost got lost en route to the film set, the most expensive prop being used for Fran Alonso and how the Celtic manager enjoyed his transition into acting.
