Confidence high as leaders Celtic get into title winning stride

I fully expected theRangers to have won today, so I am happy enough that their game has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Dens Park. And after yesterday I feel more confident about our own title chances.

After yesterday’s win over St Johnstone we sit top of the league and theRangers have now lost the chance to go into the international break as league leaders, but they now have a game in hand.

I fully expected the latest Ibrox outfit to win today so their game being off suits me just fine.

After yesterday’s dominant performance by Celtic, I feel more confident about our own title chances. We were excellent from the first whistle. Brendan had the team well organised and they played with a great fluency plus our commitment was outstanding. The way we pressed was also very pleasing.

A big part of that was down to our solidness at the back due to the return of Cameron Carter-Vickers. We are much more assured with him in the starting line up, and he fills those around him with great confidence.

That was evident when he went off as we conceded a goal not long after. He’s a vital player and, touch wood, he stays fit as he will only make us stronger in the run in.

We’ve also got Callum McGregor, Yang, Luis Palma, Reo Hatate and Maik Nawrocki to come back after the international break so that only makes us stronger. Things are looking up that’s for sure.

The players were outstanding yesterday and none more so than the attacking duo of Kyogo and Nicolas Kuhn both of whom scored fine goals. It was especially pleasing to see the performance of Kyogo who looked more like him old self. While Kuhn continues to impress and make his critics (me included) eat their words.

Brendan has a welcome dilemma on his hands with the return of Palma and Yang as Kuhn is turning in fine displays, so it will be hard to drop him. Possession is nine tenths of the law so it’s Kuhn’s to lose. Just keep doing what you’re doing and the position is yours.

One things for sure our squad will be stronger and our options from the bench will be more appealing come the run in. I for one am feeling a lot more confident about our title chances no matter results elsewhere today.

And we also have the super-sub James Forrest to put the icing on the cake just like he did yesterday.

Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone!
