Celtic have confirmed that one player has tested positive for COVID-19 after the team were tested upon their return from Dubai. The Scottish Champions were criticised by the supporters and the Government by taking part in the warm weather training camp. Now, they have given ammunition to those that said the trip was needless as an unnamed player has tested positive.
Celtic today confirmed that one player has recorded a positive test for covid-19. Clearly the player will receive all our care and full support.
All other members of our squad, management team and backroom squad are negative.

However, the club have also said that no other members of the team or staff have tested positive for the virus. The move was criticised by supporters because in the wake of the defeat at Ibrox, that left Celtic 19 points behind Rangers in the league. The club nevertheless made the trip to the UAE, which had been approved by the authorities but the issue was more that the club failed to read the room.
Players and management were pictured relaxing in the sun whilst The Scottish Government issued a ‘stay at home’ order. Celtic face Hibs tomorrow night and are likely to be an enormous 22 points behind Rangers.
The Celtic player picking up a positive result for COVID is yet another disaster for the club. The trip to Dubai was ill advised and the pictures from the trip just made matters worse, now this really does heap yet more pressure on the club. So many questions to answer.

Celtic, in an historic season, have been a fire at a fireworks factory sandwiched between a clown college and the Origami Museum
