Craig Gordon’s recreates Celtic Invincible moment at Hampden

Craig Gordon recreated his iconic Invincible Treble celebration after Scott McTominay’s late goal gave Scotland a deserved 3-2 win over Israel. The veteran goalkeeper produced a couple of smart stops but his celebration at the other has left many comparing it to Tom Rogic’s late winner over Aberdeen in 2017.

Scotland came from behind twice to secure a vital win, which opens up a four-point gap over the Israelis with three games remaining in the group.

Gordon has spent six years at Celtic but following the expiry of his deal, no agreement was reached leaving the Invincible ‘keeper free to join any club. Hearts swooped to sign their former £9m export, who played just six games for Celtic since the beginning of 2019. This move has paid dividends for Gordon, who is now the Jambos captain as well as retaining his place as Scotland’s No.1.

Admittedly, Gordon had the ability to make some top saves but his Celtic career appeared to have stalled and in order to gain first team football he wasn’t willing to risk being second choice at Celtic.
