Yatao of this parish reports this morning that Celtic forward Daizen Maeda has withdrawn from the Japan squad due to injury and will now remain at Lennoxtown to receive treatment.

“Breaking News: Japan national team announced that Daizen Maeda will not join the team this time due to injury. JFA didn’t disclose the details of his injury, but during international break he’ll be able to have rest and focus on recovery in Scotland.”

Dan Orlowitz then advised that Hayao Kawabe replaces the injured Daizen Maeda in the Samurai Blue squad for the upcoming international week.

Both Kyogo and Reo Hatate remain in the Japan squad for their two October home matches starting on Friday 13 October against Canada and then they play Tunisia on Tuesday 17 October.

Hopefully both Celtic player can get some game-time and more importantly come back injury free. Daizen getting a rest ahead of the forthcoming round of matches, including the home and away Champions League ties with Atletico Madrid, is also no bad thing, provided his injury is nothing too serious.

Didn’t notice him struggling with anything at the weekend in the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock which opened up a seven points advantage against both St Mirren and theRangers.
