Palma showing he’s the real deal after some unfair criticism

Luis Palma is starting to show why he was brought to the club by Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic recruitment team led by Mark Lawwell. The Honduran international winger was unfairly written off after a below par display against Feyenoord in Celtic’s Champions League opening day defeat in Rotterdam.

Since then he’s put his head down and worked hard to establish himself in the team and justify the manager’s faith in him to succeed at Celtic.

It seems to have paid off as Palma put in a splendid display against Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon as he scored a superb goal helping us to a 3-1 win as we stretched our lead at the top of the table to seven points.

It wasn’t just his goal, it was his all round play that was impressive. He likes to take players on, he’s a real crowd pleaser and he can also put in a decent ball. He looks like being a cracking player for Celtic.

Despite not being a regular starter when he arrived, Luis has bided his time and shown in glimpses of what he can do. He of course scored the opener in the dramatic win at Fir Park and was extremely unlucky to see his superb finish against Lazio ruled out after a VAR check.

Luis is starting to settle into life as a Celtic player and will soon be a regular starter, making the short sighted stick he received after the game in Rotterdam look very foolish indeed.
