Dates and kick-off times confirmed for Scottish Cup semi-finals

The dates and kick-off times have been confirmed for the Scottish Cup semi-finals next month featuring Hearts versus Hibs and Celtic versus theRangers. It’s actually the first time ever that the two Edinburgh sides, Celtic and a club playing out of Ibrox have all qualified for the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup in the same season. A pretty remarkable stat that one!

As expected the Edinburgh Derby will be played first and that will take place at Hampden on Saturday 16 April with the early kick-off of 12.15pm, to accommodate the sponsor and subscription broadcaster Premier Sports.

Then on Sunday 17 April Celtic will take on theRangers in the second semi-final, once again at Hampden and this time the kick-off time is 2pm.

Both games will be live on Premier Sports and we will give you ticket information as soon as it is available.

April is going to be some month.

Celtic Historian David Potter has told the story so far of Celtic v Rangers/ theRangers in Scottish Cup semi-finals today on The Celtic Star and it’s well worth a read. Can’t recall what happened by did a fire alarm or something go off in theRangers end in this one? They seemed to head for the exts sharpish. No idea why…

  1. Why do we always have to play the day after the first semi final when the pitch is more likely to be churned up or loose turf on the penalty spot as Tom Rogic discovered too late.

    • TV will have a big say and theRangers Ould be playing in Europa League on the Thursday night, if they are hopefully that’s the away game.
