David Moyes to remain at West Ham despite Celtic links

David Moyes will be remaining at West Ham United following his Europa Conference League success with the East London club. There had been suggestions that Moyes may depart this summer with the rumour being that he was a candidate for the Celtic job should Ange Postecoglou depart.

Of course Ange did leave but the question then turned to whether the manager would remain with West Ham or seek pastures mew. However, the 60-year-old will remain at The London Stadium as he leads the Hammers into their third successive season in Europe.

The former Celtic defender has had an impressive career as a manager and now has silverware to show for his toils. Moyes made 24 league appearances for Celtic with a Championship medal to show for his time in Glasgow.

Moyes had been linked with the Celtic vacancy but there was little doubt that he would leave the Claret and Blue outfit after this result. Given the display in the Final, it is for the best for Celtic given Moyes’ industrious style of play. This is very different to the playing style that fans were loving in the two years of Ange Postecoglou’s reign in Glasgow. Brendan Rodgers is favourite for the job, which is a similar position to the one that Moyes found himself in when he interviewed for the job in 2016.
