Ben Davies has been free to hold pre-contract talks with since January 1st. Davies has been linked with Celtic since the start of the season but as the transfer window nears an end, there is still no confirmation of his signing. The 25-year-old defender’s contract expires in the summer and he has been available to secure from next season onwards from then. However, with Sky Sports claiming that the deal was done – prematurely – supporters were at least relieved that some business was being done in anticipation of next season.
However, after yesterday’s embarrassing defeat at home to St Mirren, fans are bracing themselves for the news that Liverpool are closing in on a £2m deal to sign the Championship star.

Sun journalist Tom Barclay said that he doesn’t expect there to be any hitches in delaying the short move from Preston to Liverpool for Davies.
Amazing turnaround for Davies, who was all set to go to Celtic. I'm told there's not expected to be any hitches and the move to Liverpool should go through tomorrow. From the Championship to the champions

If the deal goes through and Davies completes the move to Anfield, serious questions need to be asked of the club for allowing this opportunity to pass them all as well as not changing the manager despite promising a January review.
You can’t argue with the player rejecting a move to play with Liverpool and compete for the league and Champions League – especially with the amount of injuries in Jurgen Klopp’s side. Celtic on the other hand appear to be in free-fall.
