Olivier Ntcham is being chased by a number of clubs ahead of the transfer deadline. The 24-year-old French midfielder was linked yesterday with a move to Newcastle United; however, now French side Marseille have emerged as contenders for his signature as the player seems desperate to leave Neil Lennon’s side.
Sky Sports are reporting that Marseille are looking to use their funds from the sale of Morgan Sanson and bring Ntcham to the south of France. Celtic are believed to want a fee around £8m for Ntcham as they look to make some profit on the £4.5m signing from Manchester City in 2017. Although game time has been limited, now even more so with the emergence of Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull into the Celtic midfield.
Marseille supporters have erupted in the last few days, forcing a game to be postponed after a group of fans broke into the training centre in protest of the club’s current failings. Ntcham is believed to want a move back to France and had been linked with Lille but he appears ready to take whatever deal is offered.
The midfielder signed for Brendan Rodgers from City and has made 137 appearances, scoring 23 goals in a trophy laden period for the club. The player looks set to have played his last game for the club.
