Dermot Desmond’s statement is an absolute embarrassment to Celtic Football Club…

When I went to bed around 9pm last night with my alarm set for 4.30am, little did I know I would be waking in those early hours to countless WhatsApps discussing one of the most explosive announcements and follow up statements I can remember in all my years as a Celtic fan.
Coincidentally the last thing I actually read before going to bed was a rumour about Brendan Rodgers agreeing a one year extension with the promises of oodles of cash to spend come January.
I laughed at it’s absurdity but upon waking up to the news that Martin O’Neill was back at the helm at Celtic Park, this no longer seemed the most ridiculous thing I had read in the past 12 hours.

Amazingly however the latter one turned out to be true. Still half asleep I lay there reading through my messages feeling like each person who had sent me them was all in on a great big wind up whilst having a laugh at my expense.
O’Neill returning to Celtic. In 2025? Surely not. But it’s true. Brendan Rodgers has resigned and has been replaced by a Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney combination. Once I got my head around that I then clicked onto the statement everyone was discussing regarding Dermot Desmond and I genuinely couldn’t believe what I was reading.

If you combine this statement with the one the other week then it would appear that none of the people running our club have any perception of the real world .
I hope that Brendan has not been silenced and we can hear his side of events over the last 2 + years .
Though I doubt the Desmond will ALLOW THST TO HAPPEN
I would also like to know if I CAN MAKE A STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB AS I AM A SHAREHOLDER
YOU and those like you are the “embarrassment to Celtic football club” You and those like you that print sheer Rafael Scheidt spamming out your narrow minded opinions, that are based on other bloggers narrow minded opinions trying to get revenue are the “People who are stealing money from fans”
You sit there ranting nothing more than your own childish opinion about a CONFIRMED LIAR who you were calling “rat” a couple of seasons ago! But now you are firmly right up the CONFRIMED LIAR’s backside so far you can’t see past his Scheidt and just like him its everyone’s fault BUT the CONFIRMED LIAR’s!
The most self entitled “fans” that the club has ever had, absolutely projecting your own failings about “not living in the real world” onto others.
YOU are the embarrassment.
Are you okay mate?
Thanks for taking the time to reply Dermot, I know you’ve had a busy few days
All that statement will achieve is divide opinion.
I fail to see how DD would leave himself open to a potential lawsuit, for a character assassination.
Would even say a lawyer wrote it on behalf of DD, and he only put his name to it imo?
Regardless I have suspected that Rodgers was the biggest culprit, within the current shitshow within the club. This statement only confirms what I suspected.
But it’s become very toxic to show any agreement towards the board whatsoever at present.
Personally, it’s got to a stage where I’m glad to see the back of Rodgers now.
All I’m hoping for is that MoN and Maloney can get our players back to playing to there capabilities, as Rodgers couldn’t any longer.
Haven’t got no interest really in 2 multi millionaires having a fallout.
What is very evident is that we were to believe that Rodgers was DD choice to replace Ange.
Even resulting in lawwell Jr losing his job, presumably with the backing of DD.
So Rodgers must have done something to really piss off DD to such a degree imo.
What that actually is, will expect it to be revealed soon enough.
With JK leaving also, would be very surprised if both haven’t got a job already lined up imo?
Couldn’t care less myself, but will be interested to see if the likes were to happen, as to what the reaction then would be like?
Don’t believe this saga is finalised by any means, Personally got far more interest in winning our next 2 matches, despite a mixed reaction.
This article isn’t representative of all fans but the nutter brigade minority. I hold Rodgers and the board responsible for the mess but this lazy journalism simply portrays a distorted view. If DD said nothing he is accused of hiding and now if he gives his opinion which anyone can do then he is criticised too. If Rodgers is innocent then he is old enough to speak up in response so let’s wait for that before choosing sides. This is what the Huns want to see – Celtic fans divided.
The article is what it is, Conall’s own take on the matter. He hasn’t claimed to speak for anyone else at all, all he has done is state his own view after hearing the news that Brendan had resigned and then read the statement from Dermot Desmond.
