Disgusting scenes as Celtic’s UCL rivals see derby suspended despite 3-0 lead

Celtic’s UEFA Champions League rivals Feyenoord have had their game against Ajax abandoned after fan trouble in the home end. The Amsterdam Arena was the venue for ‘De Klassieker’ and Arne Slot’s team were the team looking to pick up all three points.

After winning 2-0 during the week against nine-man Celtic, Feyenoord continued where they left off in Rotterdam and were 3-0 up when Ajax fans tried to get the game stopped. The behaviour of some of the home supporters caused the game to be suspended, such was their disgust at the scoreline.

The Ajax fans then attempted to break into the main stand in a ploy to get to the club’s hierarchy.

Feyenoord looked threatening in the game and were content with simply soaking up pressure and allowing Ajax to commit forward before scoring on the break. The quality of the Dutch Champions cannot be understated but Brendan Rodgers will be keen to record a victory against them when the teams meet in December.
