After months of speculation and endless rumours, Odsonne Edouard has finally completed a move away from Celtic Park. The Frenchman has joined Crystal Palace on a five year deal, with the fee believed to be in the region of £14m, though that figure could potentially rise to £18.5m with various add-ons.
Edouard first arrived at Celtic on loan from PSG in August 2017, before the Hoops secured his services on a permanent basis for a club record £9m transfer. Throughout his four years in Glasgow, the striker racked up 86 goals and 39 assists in 179 appearances. He quickly became a fan favourite, scoring in iconic matches such as the treble-treble and quadruple-treble clinching cup finals, the famous 5-0 league title winning victory over Rangers and a catalogue of further crucial derby day goals.

Such was the fandom that the player enjoyed at Celtic Park, a tremendous Stone Roses anthem (I Wanna Be Adored) was adapted in tribute to him and became the envy of many clubs throughout the globe.
Edouard departs Celtic with nine major trophies to his name and a bundle of special memories. That said, it had become clear that he wished to move on since the beginning of last season and, therefore, it is best for all parties that he now has now found a new challenge in the English Premier League.
PSG will be in line to receive 40% of the transfer fee (over the £9m that Celtic recouped) as part of a sell-on clause that the French giants negotiated when allowing Edouard to sign for Celtic. The deal will thus not have the huge financial rewards once envisaged by the Bhoys, but he certainly represented excellent value for money with the service that he gave to the club.

Odsonne will remember his Celtic days long after all his other clubs have drifted away.
He was a great player for Celtic and Celtic was a great club for him.
A combination of Covid-19 lockdown and gross mismanagement and broken promises by Lawell and Lennon took his enthusiasm in the end but we saw a world class player in a Cetic jersey and his best is yet to come.
His coming goals will see him keep Crystal Palace in the EPL, his value will soar, and he will be sold for huge money to a club capable of challenging for the CL.
