Draw date for next season’s Premier Sports Cup announced

In arguably the worst rebranding of the tournament yet, Celtic will find their fate of who they may face in the Premier Sports Cup next week, live on Freesports TV Channel and the SPFL Youtube channel.

The Hoops’, who saw embarrassment in the competition this year with a 2-0 home defeat to Ross County, will aim to claim back what has been definitively theirs over the last four years under the new manager – whoever it may be. Having won the competition in five of the last six years prior to the Staggies’ defeat, Hoops fans will be hoping for a repeat of the run which saw them beat theRangers 1-0 in the final in December 2019.

And you can find out who their potential opponents will be on Friday 28th May, where eight groups will be drawn for the competition from the clubs not playing in Europe next season, where the winners will go on to face the top 5 of this season – namely Celtic, Aberdeen, Hibs, St Johnstone and theRangers.

I really did not know what tournament this was, but I think the best solution to this problem is to simply call it “the Scottish League Cup” We have won the Scottish League Cup 19 times.
