Celtic target available for free after contract expires

Celtic are in dire need of rebuilding this summer, following a tumultuous season across all competitions. Money to spend isn’t an issue as such; with the club expected to lose Odsonne Edouard for a fee upwards of £20m and money being there to spend from the sale of Jeremie Frimpong, a good amount of finance should be available to change the outlook at the club. However, the cheaper a player is to sign, the better – something they may just find in Adam Reach.

Reach, 28, has just finished his final season for Sheffield Wednesday, following a 5-year stint, the club has announced today. A player of his quality shouldn’t warrant being allowed to leave a on a free; however, the Owls cannot afford to keep him. After starting the season on a -6 point total following financial difficulties, they saw relegation to the third tier this season for the first time in nine years, after an enthralling final day encounter which saw Patrick Roberts send them down.

Adam has been famed throughout his time at Hillsborough for scoring goals of genuine quality. His left foot is famed for being a wand, scoring from anywhere across the final third – and could quite easily garner a Goal of the Season category just for himself, which has notified Celtic’s interest in the past.
