‘Dream come true’, promising youngster signs long term deal

Promising Celtic youngster Owen Moffat has signed a new long term contract with the club taking this stay at the club to 2024. On his 19th birthday, Moffat has agreed to a deal extending his twelve year stay at the club in the form of a new deal.

Taking to Twitter, Moffat expresses his delight at signing the new deal with the club.

“Dream come true to sign a new long term contract with Celtic, so proud and looking forward to the coming years at my boyhood club.”

It will be interesting to see what this future has in store for him – he’s now at that age where senior football might be the best thing for his development. When we consider that plenty of teams in Scotland will be struggling financially just now, that means the loan market will be more important than ever for some clubs. It would be great to see him get a chance to go somewhere and show what he can do and stake a claim for a place in the first team in the future.
