Dundee v Celtic: Predicted XI as same again from Rodgers

Celtic face Dundee today in the Cinch Premiership. The Scottish Champions kick off this afternoon in a traditional Boxing Day fixture against the Dark Blues as they look to warm up for Saturday’s Glasgow Derby with a win.

Celtic responded to two defeats in a row to beat Livingston 2-0 on the 23rd and now, Brendan Rodgers will be expecting his side to build some momentum ahead of the weekend.

In goals, Joe Hart will start.

In defence, you would expect the back four to remain unchanged with Liam Scales partnering Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of the defence with Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston in the full back berths.

In midfield, skipper Callum McGregor will start alongside Matt O’Riley. The third midfield slot will likely go to Paolo Bernardo, who will be a valuable option against Rangers, too.

In attack, Kyogo will start through the middle with Daizen Maeda and Luis Palma on the flanks.

Brendan hinted that he would have Liel Abada and Reo Hatate back at his disposal shortly, so you would not be surprised to see the duo on the bench today.

The official team lines usually come through at just before 2pm and it will be interesting to see whether Rodgers does, as predicted, and sticks with the same team or changes things up. You’d expect that the starting XI today would be an indication of how he lines up at the weekend.
