Dundee’s Charlie Adam has admitted that tomorrow’s game at Dens Park will be tough given the quality in Ange Postecoglou’s side but he is hoping that he and his teammates can capitalise on Celtic’s European travels by springing an upset. Celtic will kick-off on Sunday afternoon high on confidence after the win over the Hungarian Champions sealed their participation in football after Christmas.
The Celts ran out 3-2 winners in Budapest thanks to goals from Kyogo, Jota and Liel Abada. The front three were replaced in the second half, no doubt with Sunday in mind. The trio will certainly be included in Adam’s assessment of the quality at Celtic but he told PLZ Soccer that he is hoping that The Dee can get at Celtic.
“They’ve got the best players in the country, up there with Rangers, running, working as hard as any other team in the league, their quality will show the majority of the weeks that they play.
“But he’s come in and everybody’s written him off and they’ve got a style of play and it’s starting to work and click, so everyone has to be wary of it.
“Listen, for us it’s going to be a tough game on Sunday because we know what we faced earlier in the season. But you just hope they might have a little bit of a hangover from the European game and you can try and get at them and cause them a few problems.
“They’ve got a few players missing through injury and you’ve got to try and take care of that as well.
“It’s another big challenge. Celtic will bring a big crowd and a good atmosphere.”
Celtic were 6-0 winners when the sides met at the beginning of August. Since then, Celtic have continued to evolve and whilst there have been setbacks, the manager’s plan appears to be shaping the players into his style of football. Currently, Celtic are 2nd in the Premiership, four points behind Rangers – who play Ross County at Ibrox tomorrow afternoon.
