Evening Times Talking Rubbish Again – ‘Celtic fans blasted for leaving Glasgow in ‘disgusting’ state”

THE EVENING TIMES take on the historic and somewhat remarkable celebrations that took place in Glasgow at the weekend is to complain about The Celtic Supporters making a mess.

Of course they have form – they did this when we played Bayern Munich in the Champions League when they called us Pigs. That was because of the litter that was left around the square where The Celtic fans had gathered before the game. Later the Munich Police confirmed that they had actually removed all litter bins due to security reasons and that there were squad of binmen ready to move in to clear up the empties. There had been no arrests.

Celtic issued a statement about this controversy saying, “The city’s police praised the Celtic fans for their behaviour both before and after the game, while the fans inside Allianz Arena were vocal in their support throughout the 90 minutes despite it being a tough night for the Hoops, who lost the game 3-0.

“Celtic would like to thank our fans for their support of the team, as always, and the club is also looking forward to welcoming Bayern Munich fans to Paradise on October 31.”

But the evening newspaper for Glasgow went with their ridiculous Pigs headline.

Now they are at it again, after Saturday’s gigantic Treble Treble street party. Have a look for yourselves.

And while The Evening Times, with its small and declining circulation, is busy putting the boot into the Hoops supporters for the rubbish, another more progressive local media outlet Glasgow Eyes Magazine have been working on producing a souvenir photo book of the celebrations which really did capture Glasgow in all of its glory.
