Ex-Celtic youngster linked with MLS and Gillingham moves

FORMER CELTIC youngster Calvin Miller is being targeted by Gillingham after completing an unsuccessful trial at Plymouth Argyle. The League One outfit signed Celtic’s Scott Robertson during the week and Steve Evans may look to sign the versatile Miller.

As reported by the Glasgow Times, Gillingham as well as Kansas City in the MLS are interested in bringing the player in who spent over a decade with Celtic. An ACL injury hampered his progress since breaking through under Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers had attempted to use Miller as a left wingback, providing competition for Kieran Tierney, similar to what the Irishman did with Ryan Bertrand at Chelsea. Miller isn’t one for looking back in anger at his time at Celtic but he did consider the ‘what if’ question of what might have his career have been had Brendan Rodgers not left the club.

The 22-year-old still has plenty of time to make a good career for himself and he has been unfortunate with injuries, stunting his opportunities to make himself a first team regular at Celtic.

Hopefully Miller is able to showcase the talents that he possesses and get a move sorted giving him the chance to play football again.
