Facebook Live Gigs – Celtic & Irish Performers

Glasgow is blessed with a very strong Irish music scene. The Irish roots and identity of Celtic have always ensured that the musical culture is a big part of the club’s support, and this tradition has led to many folk style songs being written about Celtic Football Club over the years, perhaps most famously – Celtic Symphony by The Wolfe Tones.

With the pubs shut and no matches on, there’s a bit of a void left across Scotland and Ireland, among other places at present. But fear not, for the following musicians are going live on Facebook over the next few days.

Tonight:

Alban Norrby 6pm – PERSONAL PAGE (OWNER AT CASTLE BAR, DERRY)

Eimhear Ni Ghlacain 8pm – LIVE STREAM ON CELTS ARE HERE FACEBOOK PAGE

Stephen Dodds – TIME TBA, CHECK PERSONAL PAGE & STEPHEN DODDS CELTIC/IRISH/FOLK SINGER PAGE

If you are not Facebook friends with those posting live videos from their personal pages, you can still view the videos by hitting ‘follow’ on the individual profiles, if you cannot view the content due to privacy restrictions that they may have set up.

Many of these singers are currently out of work due to the coronavirus causing many performing venues to be closed. As a result, a lot of these excellent performers will have a PayPal link accompanying the live stream, whereby you can make a donation to support them, as they entertain you through the lockdown.

If you are a musician fitting into the above categories, then feel free to notify @cfcliamk96 on Twitter and we will update this article with details of your video.

Enjoy!
