Tonight’s Lockdown Entertainment: Lisbon Lions

BBC Scotland have announced that they will be showing Glasgow 1967: The Lisbon Lions at 8.00pm tonight. The evocative documentary was originally released to mark the 50th anniversary of Celtic becoming the first team from the UK to win the European Cup. It features rare archive footage and player testimonies.

As ever, fan favourite – Bertie Auld has plenty to say as part of the programme, taking viewers on a walk round his childhood home. There are many other great stories, in what is a fine tribute to one of the greatest sporting achievements of all time.

Having been in lockdown for almost a week and some self isolating for longer, the documentary may provide a welcome relief, putting football and Celtic back on the agenda whilst most minds have been occupied by the global crisis.
