Final Whistle: “Peter Lawwell has to decide if he is the CEO or Director of Football at Celtic”

As a longstanding supporter of Celtic (55 years) I am deeply concerned at the current situation involving the club.

Neil Lennon, in my mind has been treated appallingly by a certain section of our support…his dedication to Celtic as a player and manger deserves better. However, no one person is bigger than the club and Neil should surely understand that the current form is not good enough so the buck stops with him and he should have stepped down with grace and his legacy would have been upheld.

Peter Lawwell has to decide if he is the CEO or Director of Football at Celtic, signing of certain players over the past few years would indicate that neither Brendan Rodgers nor Neil Lennon had complete control over player recruitment and as such there are players at the club who will never be Celtic standard.

For this Peter Lawwell is solely to blame and should face the fans and explain exactly what his role is in the club’s signing policy. This of course is unlikely to happen so to make my point I will not attend any more Celtic matches nor will I buy any products until such times as he steps down from his role.
