“First goal will give us confidence to go get another one,” Brendan

CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers accepts that it will be s difficult task but believes his side has what it takes to shock Valencia in their own backyard tomorrow evening in this second leg Europa League tie.

Following on from a confident interview from Celtic captain Scott Brown, the gaffer gave his thoughts after arriving at the Mestalla on how Celtic can forge a way back into this tie which they are currently losing 2-0.

“It’s a game we look forward to. We have to work our way into the game,” Brendan said.

“It will be important to be defensively compact, tight and concentrated.

“Then when we have the ball we must look to create opportunities.

“Our focus is on bringing our game. If you make mistakes you get punished.

“If we can get that first goal that will give the team that extra confidence to go and get another,” an optimistic Brendan continued.

“We can come back again tomorrow night. It’ will be a challenge. If I look at the game and ask if we have the chance, the answer is of course. Even if it’ll be difficult.

“The result and how we performed in Sunday’s game will give us confidence, but this is a different game and level.

“What we need to ensure is that in the moments of pressure we can stay strong and stay compact.

“It is a challenge for us, but I’m really looking forward to it,” Brendan said.
