First half ratings: Skipper shows the way with a 9

It’s yet another reassuring attacking performance under Ange Postecoglou for the Celtic fans, and the first half in. the second leg against FK Jablonec has given fans food for thought. It may not be the same scoreline as the rout over Dundee, but the performances are there thanks to the Aussie manager. Here are the half-time ratings…

Hart: 7 – The Englishman had very little to do in the first knockings, but was always assured with whatever slight problem was thrown his way.

Ralston: 6 – The Scottish Cafu got forward once and nearly set up Turnbull, in yet another sensible performance from the former boo boy.

Taylor: 9 – Finally been busy attacking down the left, and Taylor has also made sure of nothing threatening at the back. His clever closing down in the first half set up Turnbull for the opener, too – ever so pleasing for a player who has started to perhaps find his stride.

Starfelt: 7 – The big Swede has used his big suede well, and handled anything that has come his way expertly. Exemplary as of yet from the signing from Russia.

Welsh: 8 – Brilliantly composed defending throughout, although the youngster should have scored, as he headed over unmarked – with goal at his mercy.

McGregor: 9 – outstanding as ever, running the show as his sides’ supersonic and mesmerising passing continues to come through the captain. Deserving of the full Celtic Park chanting his song.

Christie: 7 – Carrying on his superb form, Christie enjoyed one moment of atrociously brilliant magic, bringing his usual energy and always being a threat.

Turnbull: 8 – The Wishaw wizard got the opening goal and along with his second, it is his best game yet under Ange – he is loving it out there.

Rogic: 9 – The Wonderful Wizard of Aus has given magic touches throughout, including beating four men out wide just before the opener. A real class act.

Forrest: 6  – quiet night all round for Jamesy but he’s always showing wide on the right flank, and should have had an assist had Kyogo’s effort not been ruled out.

Kyogo: 6 – The Japanese king was straight in on the troubled keeper in the first minute, and tried a dummy that didn’t work instead of shooting – but that is what happens when you breed confidence. He did score but it was wrongly flagged offside; and then got booked for his second nothing foul. Not his night, but he’s still been a pain in the backside for their back line all night, and his clever movement set Turnbull free.
