Forster Hoping for Hoops Stay

Fraser Forster has opened the door to a permanent Celtic return after a brilliant week in Green and White.

The Englishman has been a revelation since returning to Celtic Park in the summer from Southampton and has emotionally said that he would never turn down the chance to remain a Celtic player.

“To come back to
Celtic like this is fantastic so I’d never say no to this club.

“But it’s early doors and a lot of it is out of my hands. We’ll just have to wait and see.

“It’s so early in the season but I’d never ever say no to this club. It’s just the relationship I have with everyone here – the fans, people within the club and the coaching staff.”

The relationships that Forster has at Celtic were part of the reason that he jumped at the chance to return to Glasgow; especially as suitors for the England international would have been a fair few if playing was just his criteria but Forster wanted to play somewhere he was wanted.

“That was the big thing for me in the summer when I had to get back out and get back playing. I just wanted to go somewhere where I felt wanted because I’ve not had that for a long time”

Forster was frozen out at the Saints after injuries limited his appearances after being dropped in December 2017. Turnover of managers never helped Forster despite being handed a new deal in the summer of 2017.

“I’ve had some tough times down there; training with the under-23s and being away from the first-team.”

This deal has three years remaining and hopefully Celtic and Southampton can come together and agree a deal for the English giant, seeing as he will happily remain in Glasgow as he has suggested.
