Cluj’s week has been turbulent to say the least, Dan Petrescu took to the media to complain about the fact that he and his players hadn’t received their European bonuses. It would appear, though, that they can’t get away from Celtic, who they have played three times this season already.
The moment of humiliation came when Cluj’s opponents, Iasi gave their ball boys Celtic tops to mock the Cluj players about the defeat to Celtic… or perhaps the lack of European bonuses.
Trolling level 100 was reached in Romania. All the ball boys at Poli Iasi – CFR wore Celtic Glasgow shirts to remind CFR's players of their defeat at Celtic Park 3 weeks ago. The mind games worked, as CFR lost 2-1. pic.twitter.com/pgIVFCmUay

Petrescu was unhappy that the club hadn’t paid the players for their European run that involved beating Celtic 5-4 on aggregate, including humbling Neil Lennon’s side 4-3 at Celtic Park.
“The players are still waiting to receive their agreed financial bonuses for the European games. And I am still waiting too. We’re all waiting. What can we do?
“We have enjoyed a good European run and are in a strong position to qualify for the last 32 from our group too.
“It’s a delicate subject and it seems to be a problem in Romanian football everywhere. I just hope our club management resolve this issue soon.
“If you want to motivate players, you offer them financial bonuses. That’s how football works around the world, so it’s not a good position.”
Celtic, however, gained retribution from the Romanians earlier this month when they won 2-0 at Celtic Park in the Europa League.
