Four Celts Start for Scotland against Kazakhstan

STEVE CLARKE has named four Celtic players in his starting line-up for tonight’s final Group stage match in the Euro Qualifiers. Scotland need to avoid defeat to secure third spot in a group campaign that got off to a dreadful start away to tonight’s opposition in the opening game. That 3-0 defeat to Kazakhstan is down there with the all time worst results and performances from any Scotland team and frankly that is saying something!

There’s a new manager now, optimism is slowing returning and after a decent 2-1 win away to Cyprus on Saturday, Clarke is hoping to finish off the campaign with a double header of victories ahead of March’s play off games.

The four Celtic stars starting for Scotland this evening are Greg Taylor, who set up the winner for John McGinn in Nicosia, James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie who scored that spectacular against Cyprus at the weekend.

Former Celt David Marshall continues in goal. The other starts are Palmer, Jack, Gallagher, McKenna, the afore-mentioned McGinn and Naithsmith.

Celtic’s Lewis Morgan is on the bench, as is former Celts Stuart Armstrong and Oli Burke.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm at a freezing cold Hampden.
