Frank McAvennie Reacts To His Hoops Bar Tribute

Celtic great, Frank McAvennie, has been part of the Hoops bar wall paintings in tribute to great players of the past for some time. The popular Celtic pub, located on the Gallowgate, also has a painting of the former Celtic striker above the ladies toilets with the famous words ‘Here’s the birds’.

McAvennie spotted the artwork this week and took to Twitter, where he described it as a great photo.

The Hoops Bar is a shrine to Celtic in the heart of what comprises the traditional walk to Paradise from the city. One wall is dedicated to various supporters clubs, another has paintings of Celtic greats such as Cadete and Di Canio, whilst the back wall is a work in progress of what will eventually display the Bar’s greatest Celtic XI.
