Fraser Forster transfer talks delayed until Southampton finish season

RALPH HASENHUTTL has insisted that the Saints will not make any transfer dealings until they finish the season. The Southampton manager is too concerned with his upcoming matches to worry about transfer business. With three games remaining, Celtic will need to wait until after July 26 when the Saints play their final game of the season at home to Sheffield United.

As reported by Glasgow Live, Hasenhuttl will not make any decisions until the end of the month meaning that Celtic are likely to start with Scott Bain in goals for the upcoming season kick off at home to Hamilton Accies.

“I don’t concentrate so much on the transfer market to be honest.

“I know we have some targets but it is such a busy time, I have to focus on getting a performance from my team and the opponents we are facing.

“It costs a lot of energy at the moment to find the right game plan. You can imagine if you are playing teams like City and United you need a perfect game otherwise you have no chance.

“So there is a lot of preparing, especially with two or three days between games.

“My scouts are giving me some information in the players that are of interest to us, we are busy in the background.”

Forster is undoubtedly top of the wishlist for Neil Lennon as the club go for an unprecedented 10 successive titles in a row. The 32-year-old Englishman rejected a loan return to Celtic preferring a permanent move but now Saints are focused on moving up the league table and not about transfers.

Celtic have been linked with David Marshall and Joe Hart should a move for Forster fail to transpire but given the incredible performances that Forster put in last year, he has to be the first choice for the club and supporters.

Elsewhere, Ross County are waiting on news of Celtic’s pursuit of Forster to seal a deal for Ross Doohan, the 22-year-old keeper.
