Struggling French side Rennes is as previously reported looking to offload former Celtic talisman Jota in the January transfer window after his summer move from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad…

Jota has failed to reach the required level of match-fitness and appears to have been deemed surplus to requirements for the Brittany side currently 13th in the Ligue 1.
Rennes problems seem to be scoring goals and they are desperately looking for a striker. According to multiple reliable sources their manager wants to sign Celtic striker Kyogo, who has recently been linked to a £10m move to MLS side Atlanta, now managed by the former Celtic boss Ronny Deila, with the former Celtic (and both Rangers) striker Kenny Miller as his assistant.

Accordingly to national title L’Equipe and local Brittany outlet Ouest-France talks have taken place with both Celtic and Kyogo’s representatives about a January move to France for the Celtic goalscorer.
According to getfootballfrance.com L’Equipe understands that Sampaoli is keen on signing Furuhashi but the same can’t be said about Rennes Sporting director Frederic Massara. Ouest-France adds that Celtic would be reluctant to part ways with Furuhashi now as they won’t be able to replace him on the UEFA lists for their last two remaining Champions League games against Young Boys and Aston Villa.

Celtic spend £9.5m in the summer on Adam Idah who has struggled to justify the investment and has now gone a dozen games without scoring.
There is very little chance that Celtic will allow Kyogo to leave ahead of the Champions League play-off play being sorted one way or the other. That could happen next Wednesday against Young Boys at Celtic Park.
Kyogo was linked with a summer move to Manchester City after impressing in Celtic’s pre-season win over the English Champions in the United States.
