Giakoumakis latest – Greek journalist says deal is not done yet

Celtic will need to include a hefty sell-on fee if they are to sign Georgios Giakoumakis, according to Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos. The VVV-Venlo attacker was in Germany discussing a move to Germany as Celtic ponder a move for the Greek Internationalist. However, Celtic are now in the lead to sign the player but no deal has been concluded yet with the Dutch club expecting a 15% sell-on for the player.

Chorianopoulos is the Celtic support’s go-to guy as far as information on Greek football when it relates to Celtic. The Editor in Chief at Sportime newspaper and Sportime.gr took to Twitter to say that deal was not yet complete but that it was Celtic that have offered the best deal.

Celtic look to be making a move for Giakoumakis as anticipation grows that a bid will come in for Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman appears to be of interest to Crystal Palace and OGC Nice but, as of yet, is still a Celtic player. This situation will likely twist and turn before the end of the transfer window; however, it would appear that in order to sign the 26-goal scorer from last season, Celtic will need to act quickly and make sure that they get the business done.
