Giannis Chorianopoulos Update – Palma says goodbyes, expected in Glasgow within 24 hours

Giannis Chorianopoulos has given us the breakthrough we all wanted as the Greek journalist has insisted that Aris Thessaloniki attacker, Luis Palma, has said his goodbyes to teammates and will be on his way to Glasgow within the next 24 hours. The reporter has been keeping everyone in the loop re Palma and now it looks like Celtic have gotten their man.

It will be a big relief for the Celtic supporters as well as manager Brendan Rodgers, who has been quite clear in his desire for the club to back him and bring in the quality additions which are sorely lacking from his team. The squad Celtic have built will look good for depth once everyone is fit again, but we are missing vital pieces of the jigsaw puzzle from the starting line-up.

Since Jota, Aaron Mooy and Carl Starfelt have departed, we have a dearth in quality all over the park which was our strength during the last campaign. The Celtic heirarchy need to get their finger out and start getting those bits of experience and quality that we need for it long season ahead. The fans have did their part, as they always do, now they have to respond.

Palma is a good start but more are definitely required if we are to retain our Legaue Crown and make it Three-in-a-row on Rodgers’ homecoming. Not to mention the UEFA Champions League group stages this year which were already going to be difficult without the loss of three aforementioned players this summer transfer window.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
