Giorgos Giakoumakis named Premiership Player of the Month for March

Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has today been named the Scottish Premiership player of the month for March. The Greek striker has led the line brilliantly since the turn of the year and has played a huge part in Celtic turning around a six point deficit to go into the final six games of the season six points clear of theRangers after Sunday’s hugely significant 2-1 win at Ibrox.

In March the 27 year old Celtic Number seven scored five goals for the Hoops including a hat-trick against Ross County at Celtic Park. The former VVV Venlo goalscorer also won back his place in the Greece national side during a memorable period for the Celtic striker.

Those five goals took his tally for Celtic to 12 goals, which have come in 13 starts and 23 appearances this season as Giakoumakis has become a crucial member of Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

And by the looks of it there’s much more to come from the striker who this week even got his own song from the Celtic support, which you can watch below!
