“GOOOALLL! It’s beautiful, magical,” Scotty Sinclair scores for Preston NE

SCOTTY SINCLAIR this afternoon scored his first goal for Preston NE.

The former Celtic winger was frozen out of Neil Lennon’s side in the first half of the season after Alex Neil failed to get the deal across the line in the summer. But the former Hamilton boss came back and it was a case of second time lucky in the January window.

And today Scotty Sinclair started to repay Neil’s faith in the winger who was Brendan Rodgers’ most successful signing for Celtic.

He won the Scottish PFA Player of the Year in his first season, followed that up by being the club’s top scorer in his second season and competed in ten domestic trophies while at Celtic and won them all. An absolutely remarkable record.

With his 3 year contract coming to an end last summer Peter Lawwell took the one year option to extend the contract but was intent on selling the player who was one of the club’s top earners.

With Lewis Morgan also sold in the January window, going to a more glamorous destination that Preston – to David Beckham’s Inter Miami – and with other wingers suffering injuries (the latest being Mikey Johnston who looks set to be out for the season) a player like Scotty Sinclair could have been handy to have around the place.

But he’s a Preston player now and will be delighted to hit the back of the net. It’s currently 1-1 in Preston’s game against Swansea. Maybe Scotty will get the winner?
