Green Brigade’s incredible UEFA display then a tribute to Johnny Doyle

Celtic kicked off against Ferencvaros and many would have been surprised to see over 50,000 fans in attendance for the afternoon kick-off. The game kicked off at the disgraceful time of 3.30pm, which was partially due to The COP26 Conference in Glasgow on Matchday 4 meaning that two home fixtures could not be played on the same night.

The game was rescheduled but given Tuesday is a Champions League night, UEFA would not let a Europa League game be played at the same time. Therefore Celtic fans had to scramble to deal with work, school and other commitments.

The Green Brigade and North Curve Celtic unveiled an incredible Countdown-inspired dig at UEFA for prioritising TV companies over the fans.

North Curve also displayed a flag depicting Johnny Doyle. Today marks the anniversary of his tragic passing. Doyle was a lifelong Celtic fan, who lived the dream by playing for the club before he was cruelly killed aged 30.
