Griffiths’ Praise For Celtic Coaching Staff

Lee Griffiths netted his fifth hat-trick in Celtic colours last weekend. The 29 year-old striker has been in scintillating form since returning to the side on a regular basis and his goals give Steve Clark food for thought when it comes to selection for Scotland’s crunch match with Israel at the end of the month.

Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland after collecting the match ball on Saturday, Griffiths said: “It’s always nice to be back on the score sheet, but to get three is extra special. The most important thing for us is to get the win and increase that lead at the top of the table.”

Griffiths then touched on the coaching team, and the job they’ve done in training. “I try to work on my finishing every day, and with the sessions they put on it’s always going to help me. Duff has played at the top, he’s played under some top, top managers and with top, top players. His experience around the training field is invaluable to us. Just pulling me aside, and the detail he goes into in training is different class. It’s not just him it’s Kendo, Woodsy and the gaffer as well, they all work together as a team and that’s why we’re pushing forward as much as we are.”

Lee Griffiths has scored eight goals since the turn of the year, a tally which exceeds the combined efforts of Morelos and Kent in 2020.
