Guess who is raging? Twelve points clear, PSG are confirmed as French Champions

NEWS breaking from France is that PSG, with their 12 point lead over Marseille, are the Champions of France – so congratulations are due to them as worthy title winners.

Domenighetti Joël from L’equipe.fr has tweeted about the decision and this is roughly translated as “Pro championships completed. Fixed rankings. PSG champion of L1. FFF criterion / ratio retained.”

This is exactly the formula that the SPFL have used to determine the lower leagues in Scotland and resulted in Dundee Utd, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers winning their respective decisions.

It is also the criteria that will be used over the coming few weeks for the Scottish Premiership should it be decided that the remaining games cannot be completed. That, incidentally has always been the Celtic position – play the games, win the league and celebrate!

The false narrative that the disparate losers across the city are spinning should be resisted at every opportunity. And one wonders will we see Marseille and a the sides now being relegated in French football act in the manner that the Rangers and doomed Hearts and Stranraer Scottish football have behaved in the recent weeks.

At least you can have a little sympathy for the two relegated sides, although they are losing friends along the way and for Hearts in particular it could backfire in spectacular fashion. Restructuring might just have to wait.

PSG are worthy French Champions. And only in Scotland will your read about Asterisks being added to the record books – demand by a club formed in 2012 which claims 53 and a half titles won by another club, which they’ve just rounded up to 54.

The big question for world football today is this. Will the Rangers recognise PSG’s tainted title? Immediately enjoy some madness on FF…”I won’t recognise PSG’s tainted title.” and “Tainted as fleck. Marseille still had PSG at home who were mathematically catch-able. No Different to here.” Some more…”Any title handed out without season completion is tainted, no matter what side.” And”That’s absolutely disgraceful they were catchable.”

Here’s how things have been decide by the French.
