Happy Birthday Christopher Jullien, two defining moments in his Celtic career

Happy Birthday to Celtic defender Christopher Jullien. The French defender turns 28 today so it is worth looking back at some of his best moments since joining Celtic in the summer of 2019.Two notable moments came from last season when Jullien found himself on the end of set pieces to give Celtic vital wins.

The first comes in the League Cup Final, when Celtic found themselves under the cosh from Rangers but thanks to Fraser Forster remained level. With that in mind, Jullien popped up and scored to give the dogged, determined and defiant Celtic another trophy, their tenth in a row.

The next came in the win against Lazio when a late header from Jullien sealed a win over the Serie A giants at Celtic Park.

This season, however, Celtic have missed Jullien at the back. In his absence, the makeshift defensive unit shipping a number of goals. He will be hoping that he can get himself back to full fitness so that he can prove to the new management team that he is a reliable option at the back moving forward.

The defender returned to France to continue his rehabilitation from a knee injury suffered at the end of 2020. In the 3-0 win over Dundee United, the French defender rushed towards the goal and slid in to make a goal saving clearance but was left grounded when his knee collided with the base of the post. The horror smash saw the central defender stretchered off.
