‘He is strong, technically very good and quick across the ground,’ Lenny on ‘Little Bull’ Soro

NEIL LENNON yesterday confirmed that the deal to bring the Ivorian midfielder Ismaila Soro to Celtic had been done and also insisted that the £2m deal on top of the £3.4m spent earlier in the week on Polish striker Patryk Klimala will not be the last money that he’s going to spend in this transfer window.

“Soro is agreed and we are just waiting on the paperwork being confirmed. He is a little bull. He is strong, technically very good and quick across the ground, too.

“At 21, Soro has room for improvement but from what we’ve seen he looks a very good player.

“We’re looking to bring in one or two others as well,” Lenny confirmed at yesterday’s Media Conference – his first of the decade – ahead of this afternoon’s Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle at Firhill.

“What we want to do is just add a few more, just to give the squad a little bit more depth and give us some more quality as well.

“Can it make the difference in the second half of the season? Sometimes, yes, if you get the right ones in.

“I don’t think we’ve been weakened so far by players going out. It does give you room for a little bit more manoeuvre in terms of wages.

“We don’t want a glut of players coming in, either, but maybe three or four to come in and tighten us up a little bit. Soro has been playing at a good level, he’s robust and he plays all the games.

“He doesn’t play for a top club but his numbers are good and we like what we’ve seen. He reads the game well. He’s 21, but he plays like a man and he will add that extra bit of edge.”
