Highlights as Celtic B thrash Partick Thistle in Glasgow Cup

Celtic B Team blew Partick Thistle away with a 5-0 win in The Glasgow Cup at Airdrie’s Pennycars Stadium. Following the 1-1 draw with Rangers, Celtic’s B Team faced the Firhill outfit and would look to claim the victory.

Johnny Kenny snatched an opener after excellent work by Karamoko Dembele down Celtic’s right-hand side. The tricky winger looked threatening, he found the touchline and lifted a cross into the box, which the keeper flapped at – allowing the Irishman to score. Dembele got Celtic’s second, taking an excellent touch before taking a few touches then playing the ball into the far corner. An excellent goal.

Another winger that Ange Postecoglou will be interested in, Mikey Johnston, curled a right footed effort into the net to make it 3-0. Dembele’s second goal, with his left foot, was a special effort. The winger, capped for England’s youth teams, cut inside and curled his shot into the top corner. Joey Dawson was involved as it became 5-0 in the dying embers of the match.
