Celtic were electric on Saturday afternoon as Ange Postecoglou’s men ran out 4-0 winners. In a devasting first half, Celtic were rampant with County clueless how to cope with the waves of attack.
Giorgos Giakoumakis scored a hat-trick with Maeda completing the scoring. County were reduced to ten men in the first half with Ramsey being sent off for a lunge on Tom Rogic.
Celtic opened the scoring through Giakoumakis. Jota danced on the left hand side, showing quick feet and deceiving the Staggies right-back. He found the half yard he needed and clipped an inch-perfect cross to the back post, where Giakoumakis made no mistake.
Seven minutes later, The Greek Internationalist headed the ball goalwards only to see his effort blocked. However, he manage to react quickest and header the rebound into the corner.
The Greek forward was involved in the third, knocking on a Jota corner for Maeda to finish. The Japanese striker, who started at left-wing, stuck his leg out and direct the ball into the net.
Giakoumakis had the opportunity to complete the hat-trick after Don Robertson pointed to the spot following the bouncing ball striking the arm of a Ross County defender. Josip Juranovic selflessly allowed his teammate to complete his scoring and he duly obliged. Sending Laidlaw the wrong way and making it 4-0.
