Scott Brown training with Dunfermline, according to report

Celtic legend Scott Brown is training with Championship strugglers Dunfermline Athletic as the veteran plans his next move after leaving Aberdeen. Earlier this month, the 36-year-old confirmed that he would be leaving Pittodrie after less than a year.

Now, The Courier are reporting that Brown is training with Dunfermline as he considers his next step, whether that be coaching or playing. Dunfermline are bottom of the Championship but only on goal difference with the opportunity to leapfrog the Dumfries outfit.

Brown rejected the chance to remain at Celtic in order to take up a player-coach role under his pal, Stephen Glass. However, following the sacking of Glass and subsequent replacement Jim Goodwin informing Brown that his coaching opportunities would be limited, he made the decision to walk away from the North East. You would imagine that he is seeking to get his coaching badges, build up experience and work with the excellent John Hughes with The Pars.

The midfielder bowed out at Celtic after 620 appearances and 22 trophies in the Green and White. The opportunity to make it as a coach will motivate Brown but an opportunity to coach a first-team may also interest him, with a number of opportunities likely to present themselves in the next few weeks.
