Huge blow to the null and voiders as betting firm predicts Scottish Premiership will be played to a finish

It looks like having the season declared null and void isn’t going to happen, so the Rangers fans were clinging on to hope of the next best thing.

In some ways it feels like some would relish the idea of the season being stopped now and Celtic being awarded the title, purely because they could subject us to years of rubbish about it being “tainted”.

The reality is that if the season is played to a finish then of course Celtic will win it, and it sounds like that might still be the reality.

The Sun ran a report using some data from betting analysts at Mybettingsites, and it sounds like we might have some good news.

Of course the current global situation is still unclear so there aren’t any clear dates set, but they have still predicted that the games will be played and the season will reach a proper conclusion.

They’ve given a 55% probability that the games will still be played, with a 70% likelihood of Celtic going on to win their ninth successive title.

It’s worth pointing out that they seem to think there’s a 30% chance that the break will have taught Steven Gerrard how to set up a team that won’t bottle it when the going gets tough, but that might be a discussion for another day.

We’ve still not seen any real direction from UEFA about what should happen if play can’t restart this season, but hopefully this sounds like it won’t come to that.
