STEVEN FLETCHER to Celtic is a growing rumour tonight on Twitter and the former Hibs midfield Tam McManus has given an update regarding the deal confirming that the player is locked in contract talks with the club. McManus says that the player is keen to join the club and that money isn’t a factor in his decision.
Steven Fletcher is edging towards a deal at Celtic. Talks are ongoing. Only stumbling block possibly the length of contract but I think it will get done. He wants to sign for Celtic as I said a week or two ago. Certainly if money was a factor he would be staying in England.

Celtic have been linked with Ivan Toney from Brentford and Ajeti on a loan-to-buy agreement from the Hammers. Although it appears that free agent Fletcher has become the favourite to join the club.
Fletcher has had an impressive season in the English Championship but left Sheffield Wednesday following the expiry of his deal. In 31 starts, the veteran bagged 13 goals and 2 assists.
Celtic are in the market for a new striker as the Scottish Champions look to offload Bayo to Toulouse in the coming days. Klimala has become the second striker with Leigh Griffiths being nudged to third choice in recent weeks. Another striker would allow Lennon to play 3-5-2 when needed.
Back in 2009, Gordon Strachan was interested in bringing the Scotland Internationalist to Celtic but talks stalled allowing the target man to join Burnley for just over £3m.
Celtic on the brink of signing Steven Fletcher?
No this isn’t a flashback to our Strachan Series it’s the latest striker rumour floating about.
A lot of experience playing at a high level over the last decade or so, would you take him in the Hoops or is it 5 years too late? pic.twitter.com/35yed6hsLW

Chris Sutton on the DR Celtic podcast talking about Stephen Fletcher. Convincing argument about price, experience, quality & his ability to play as a target man for Eddy. And a better player than when we tried before. Maybe he wouldn't be such underwhelming acquisition after all
